About Us: The Cassandra Tea Room is an immersive, high-end afternoon tea experience inspired by British tradition and theatrical storytelling. We are seeking an experienced and creative Chef/Caterer to join our team on a part-time, contract basis to craft a refined and savory menu that complements our elegant tea service. Position Summary: We are looking for a skilled culinary professional with experience in high-end afternoon tea service and international cuisine to develop, prepare, and deliver a rotating selection of savory tea offerings (e.g., finger sandwiches, meat pies, tartlets, canapés). This is a part-time off-site contract role, ideal for a certified chef or caterer with access to their own licensed commercial kitchen. Key Responsibilities: Create and execute a refined savory menu aligned with traditional British afternoon tea Incorporate globally inspired flavors and techniques to enhance menu variety Prepare all food off-site in a licensed commercial kitchen provided by the chef Package and deliver food to the tea room on schedule for service events Collaborate with management to update menus seasonally and for themed tea events Maintain consistent quality, flavor, and presentation standards Ensure compliance with all local food handling and safety regulations Requirements: Minimum 2 years of experience with upscale catering, afternoon tea service, or fine dining Demonstrated experience with international cuisine and fusion menu development Current ServSafe certification or equivalent food safety certification Must have access to and work from a licensed commercial kitchen Reliable transportation for timely delivery of menu items Professional demeanor, attention to detail, and strong communication skills Availability for weekend and occasional weekday events Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a British-style tea room or luxury hospitality setting Familiarity with gluten-free, vegetarian, and allergy-sensitive menu preparation Compensation: Competitive flat rate per event or hourly rate, depending on scope of services Opportunity for seasonal and recurring contracts To Apply: Please submit your resume, food handler certification, and a sample afternoon tea menu or portfolio images of your work.
